Before you begin
If full work order permissions aren't required for a user, they can also access work orders assigned to them in Dashboards > Assigned Work Orders.
Version: v5 (what does this mean?)
Plans: All plans
Audience: Administrators
Permissions are assigned to a user via user groups. To grant a user access to work orders, they need to be assigned to a user group that has the necessary permissions.
This article details how to assign the combination of work order menu and page permissions that grant a user group the minimum permissions necessary to access work orders. Technicians, Managers, and Administrators have these required permissions by default, while Purchasing, Logistics, and Guests do not.
To assign the minimum permissions necessary to access and respond to work orders:
- Navigate to Settings > User Groups.
- Click the user group you want to allow access for.
- Click the Menu Permissions tab.
- Scroll down and select the checkboxes for Can See 'Maintenance' Top Menu and Can See 'Work Orders' Menu Item:
- Click the Page Permissions tab.
- Select Work Orders from the drop-down list and select all the permissions checkboxes:
- Click Save.
