Deactivating stock retains the stock record but puts a "pause" on it, preventing users from using it in the system. When a stock record is deactivated, Admins can still see it in the system but other users can't see or use the stock.
Activating stock allows all users to see and use the stock in the system at that location.

Deactivate a stock record
Stock can only be deactivated if:
- If the quantity on hand is 0
- It’s not associated with any of the following items:
- Active scheduled maintenance
- Open purchase orders
- Open work orders
- Open cycle counts
- Receipts
If the stock record is associated with these records, it can't be deactivated.
To deactivate a stock record:
Click a stock record from the list in Supplies > Current Stock (or click a part record in Supplies > Parts and Supplies, and then click a stock record in the Stock tab.)

Switch the status toggle to Inactive:
- Click Ok to save.
Activate a stock record
Stock can be set to active at one location while deactivated in another. If transferring stock from one location to another using stock transfer, then the stock needs to be set to active in both locations.
- Navigate to Supplies > Parts and Supplies and click a part to view.
- See which locations the stock is set to active and deactivated in the Stock levels per location table under the Status header. In this example, the stock is active in Cambridge and Toronto, but deactivated in Mississauga:
- Click one of the stock records in Stock levels per location table to open up the stock record for that location.
- Switch the status toggle to Active:
- Click OK to save.
Bulk activate or deactivate stock records
To deactivate or activate multiple stock records at once:
- Navigate to Supplies > Current Stock.
- Select the checkboxes next to any records you want to deactivate.

Click More > Deactivate All Checked to deactivate all the records:
