Before you begin
Version: v5 (what does this mean?)
Audience: Administrators, Managers
Required permissions: Can See Users and Manage Users permissions enabled
Fiix's default user groups streamline assigning permissions by grouping them into common user categories. Assign a user to a group to give them the permissions they need to access information in the app.
Users can be assigned to multiple user groups, so you can combine assignments to give users broader permissions. For example, Managers have broad permissions but are excluded from ordering parts. To give your manager the ability to order parts, you can assign them to both Manager and Purchasing user groups.
Default user group | Summary | Details | Suggested user assignment |
---|---|---|---|
Administrator |
Administrators have complete access to Fiix and the highest level of permissions.
|
They can make all changes throughout the app. |
Best for users who need to access and make all changes in the app. They should be readily available to assist users (e.g. resetting user passwords) and help manage the app on an ongoing basis. |
Manager |
Managers have broad permissions throughout the app, second only to Administrators. |
Managers can see and change most things in the app, but are excluded from most of the purchasing actions, such as ordering stock. |
Best for users that supervise tasks and users. They understand the app and on-site operational processes, but aren't responsible for purchasing. |
Technician |
Technicians can access the work that they are assigned to perform in the app. |
Technicians can see work orders, calendar, assets, meters, and scheduled maintenance. They are excluded from most user management, app management, and purchasing actions. They can't create new work orders or SMs. |
Best for users who perform maintenance work and submit their work through the app, but are not responsible for creating work orders or managing personnel. |
Logistics |
Logistics combines purchasing permissions with permissions for managing physical assets and equipment. |
Logistics can make purchasing orders, submit RFQs, edit assets, create BOMs, and manage stock. They can't use calendar, work orders, or reports. |
Best for users who are on-site and need to manage physical assets, purchasing, billing, and supplier relationships. |
Purchasing |
Purchasing permissions are for buying and managing supplies and parts. They are similar to Logistics, with less access to assets and equipment.
|
Purchasing can make orders, submit RFQs, and manage parts and supplies. Purchasing can't create BOMs, submit work requests, or see meter readings. |
Best for users who are responsible for managing and making orders, but don't work with equipment or meters. |
Guest |
Guests can view and use very limited aspects of the app. |
Guests can only submit work requests. |
Best for users that need to submit work requests, but not take any other actions. |
