Before you begin
Administrators have all permissions to make changes, but currently can't assign themselves to user groups and require another administrator to assign them to a group.
Version: v6 User management (what does this mean?)
Audience: Administrators, and users with the Edit user groups system role permissions.
Permissions live under user groups and system roles. Editing a user group's permissions will affect the access of all the users assigned to that user group.
To edit the permissions of a user group:
- Navigate to Settings > User Groups.
- Click the user group you want to change permissions for.
- Click the More drop-down menu:
- Assign permissions by checking the checkboxes of each tab. Click Save before changing to a new tab.
- Assign Menu Permissions, which allows users to see menu items in the lefthand navigation menu of the web app. Click Save.
- Assign Page Permissions, which allow users to access different pages and features in the CMMS. You don't have to save between each page permission, only when switching to a new tab.
- Assign Purchasing Permissions, which allow users to manage suppliers and orders. Click Save.
- If you have any API applications, you can view and edit them from the API Applications tab.
- Under the API Permissions tab, click Infer Permissions from Page Permissions to turn on API permissions that match the features you've assigned under Page permissions. This affects what the user group can access in the mobile app. Click Save.
- To return to the user group, click Back:
- To return to the user group list, click Back again.
