Before you begin
Version: v6 User management (what does this mean?)
Audience: Admins, Users with the Has ‘Edit’ Menu Item on the Assets Page and Has 'Save" Button on the Asset Page page permissions.
Plans: Basic, Professional, Enterprise
Bulk edit allows users to edit up to 500 equipment records at once.
Using bulk edit, existing equipment records can be updated for the following data points:
- Name
- Code
- Description
- Category
- Notes
- Make
- Model
- Serial Number
- UNSPC
- Account Charge Department
This can only be used to edit existing equipment records; bulk update does not add new equipment and can’t be used on other asset records like facilities.
To bulk edit equipment in v5:
- Go to Assets > Equipment.
- Select the checkboxes next to the records you want to edit.
- In the More menu, click Edit:
- Make the necessary edits directly in the table:
Tip
Similar to Excel, you can copy and paste from one field to another or drag the handle to fill multiple fields:
- Do any of the following:
- To filter for rows with problems (which includes rows that haven't been edited), switch on the Only show rows with problems toggle.
- To highlight the edits you've made, switch on the Show modifications toggle.
- When you're done editing, click Continue.
- If the tool finds any issues with the data (including any rows that weren't edited), you'll be prompted to decide between going back to fix the errors or just submitting the others:
