The meter reading units configured for your organization determine which units you can use in your meters.
The app provides a number of default meter reading units that represent the most common readings. If you need to record readings in a unit other than the ones provided, you can create a new one.
Note
Any meter reading units you create in Assets > Equipment cannot be used for other types of assets, such as facilities and tools, and won’t appear in Settings > CMMS Settings > Lookup Tables. Similarly, meter reading units created in Lookup Tables, facilities, or tools cannot be used for equipment.
To create a new meter reading unit:
- In Assets > Equipment, click Settings:
- Click Meter Reading Units:
- Click Create:
- Enter a Name for the unit (e.g. “Centimeters”)
- Enter the Symbol that represents the unit. For example, if you were adding a unit for Centimeters, you would enter “cm”.
- In the Precision drop-down list, select the number of decimal points that readings with this unit should use. For example, to record readings with 3 decimal points, select 3.
- Click Save.
