Version: v5 User Management
Audience: Administrators
Users can be assigned to user groups at a region or site to receive its permissions, notifications, and assignments only at that specific region or site. Assign users to different user groups at individual regions or sites when they have different responsibilities in different locations of your organization.
Users can't be assigned two user groups in a region and its direct child region (region permission conflict).

Note on region permission conflict in v5
This conflict may result in the message: "This site is already defined for the user. To update the user groups for this site, select it from the list in the Sites & User Groups list" or "User has existing permission(s) on this region".
This conflict occurs because users can’t be assigned to a user group at a lower region when already assigned to a user group in its parent region. For example, a user assigned to Managers in Canada can’t be assigned to Technicians in Toronto.
If you've encountered this conflict, try:
- Assign the user to the different user groups at the same level of region (ex. at the city level or the county level), instead of different levels of regions
- Assign the user to sites individually
- Edit the user's existing user group and region directly from the Sites/Regions and User Group Permissions list:
