Rearrange custom fields on a record

By default, custom fields are displayed in the Custom tab for both assets and work orders. However, like all fields, they can be moved to different locations on a record. 

The user interface for these records are customizable for each user group. As such, fields may be displayed in different locations for different user groups.  

To rearrange custom fields:

1. Open a record that belongs to the record type (work order, asset, project, or part/supply) you want to rearrange custom fields for.  
2. (Optional) By default, changes to the field's location will only be reflected for your own account. If you want to move the custom field for other users, do the following:
   1.  Click the gear button () in the top right corner.
   2. Click Switch to another profile:
      
   3. Select the user group you'd like to make changes for.
3. Click the gear button () in the top right corner and then Rearrange:
   

4. Drag and drop any custom fields to their new location. 
   To move a field to a different tab:

   1. Drag and drop it to the top section of the record above its tabs.
   2. Click the destination tab and drag the field there. 

   Note

   If you want to move your custom field to the left of another field, make sure your mouse cursor is on the left half of that field when dropping. If your cursor is on the right half of that field, your custom field will be placed to the right.

If you'd like to undo all your changes, click the gear icon and then Reset to default.
