Before you begin
Nested PMs are not compatible with multi-asset scheduled maintenance.
Plans: Professional and Enterprise
Permissions: Access to scheduled maintenance
In nested PMs, an iteration refers to a specific instance where the relevant trigger is set off and a work order is generated.
For example, perhaps we have 2 nested PMs, with the base N1 being weekly, and N2 being monthly (in this case, it has a multiplier of 4):
These nested PMs would have 4 iterations. Iterations 1 to 3 generate work orders that only include the weekly N1 tasks, and iteration 4 generates a work order with both the weekly N1 and monthly N2 tasks:
Once the fourth iteration is completed, the system will start over at the first iteration.
By default, the scheduled maintenance record will begin with the first iteration of the nested PM. However, you can select which another one to begin with, if necessary. For example, perhaps you just created this scheduled maintenance record, but the upcoming maintenance is the fourth iteration and requires both weekly and monthly tasks.
To select a different starting iteration:
- Click the Change button above the nested PM list:
- In the Nested PM View Modal, select the iteration you'd like to start with:
- Click Save in the top menu bar.
