Before you begin
Permissions are assigned to users via user groups in v5. To grant permissions, add them to a user group (Settings > User group > click a user group) and then all users assigned to that user group will gain those permissions.

Asset permissions allow users to add and edit equipment, tools, and parts, as well as other parts of the asset module.

Menu permissions affecting assets
Menu permissions affect which items users can see and navigate to from the navigation menu:
Menu permissions are found under the Menu Permissions tab when assigning permissions to a user group.
These permissions are mandatory for performing basic actions in assets:

Page permissions affecting assets
Page permissions affect what users can do in the CMMS.
All of these permissions require the above menu permissions in order for the user to access their features via the navigation menu.

Allows the user to add an asset event to an asset or a scheduled maintenance. Users with this permission can add asset events on the asset details page > Metering/Events tab > Most Recent Asset Events header > Add button. Prerequisite permissions:

Allows the user to access the Asset Events History page, where the user can view and edit an asset's recorded asset events. To access the Asset Events History page, navigate to an asset details page > Metering/Events tab > Most Recent Asset Events header and click a recorded event. Prerequisite permissions:

Allows the user to add and edit files to assets. Users without this permission can still add basic files to assets, but they can't change the file type. Users with this permission can click on an added file (Asset > Files tab) and change the file type to any of the following, including add an asset default image: Prerequisite permissions:
