Tasks allow you to track the labor that needs to be completed on your work orders. The items you need to complete for a task will differ based on the task type. For example, you'll need to record a reading before you can close a meter reading task.
There are 2 ways to complete a task in the web app:
Complete the task with details, which allows you to input additional information about the task.
Complete the task in the list, which allows you to quickly mark task as complete.
Use the links above to jump to the corresponding section in this article. Once you've finished completing your tasks, you can close your work order.
This method of completing tasks allows you to add additional details (such as notes) to your task. To complete a task with details:
In the web app, navigate to Dashboard > Assigned Work Orders.
Click the work order you want to complete tasks on.
Click the Labor Tasks tab.
Click the task you want to complete.
-
Do one of the following, depending on the type of task you're completing:
If you're completing a text or general task, skip to step 6.
-
If you're completing a meter reading task, enter the reading in the Results section. The unit of measure is automatically populated next to the field for the reading:
-
If you're completing an inspection task, select whether the asset passed or failed the inspection:
In the Completed By User drop-down list, select your name (or, if someone else completed the work, select their name instead).
In the Date Completed field, enter the date the task was completed.
In the Time Spent (hours) field, enter the amount of time it took to complete the task, in hours. For example, if the task took 15 minutes to complete, you would enter 0.25.
In the Task Completion Notes field, enter any notes you want to record about the task.
Click OK.
Click Save.
This method of completing tasks is faster, but doesn't allow you to add details like notes. To complete a task directly in the list:
In the web app, navigate to Dashboard > Assigned Work Orders.
Click the work order you want to complete tasks on.
Click the Labor Tasks tab.
-

-
If you're completing a meter reading task, enter the reading in the Result column, then select the dotted-line checkbox to mark it complete:
-
If you're completing an inspection task, select the Pass or Fail option in the Result column:
Note: Unlike the other task types, you can't select the dotted-line checkbox for inspection tasks. Instead, the app automatically selects it for you when you save the work order.
-
(Optional) The app automatically populates the Hrs Spent field with the amount of time that was estimated for the task. To change the amount of time spent, enter a different value in this field (in hours). For example, to specify that a task took 30 minutes, enter 0.5.
Click Save.
