Before you begin
If you're using v6 Equipment, it is currently not possible to generate a work order with a meter reading or event trigger.
Plans: All plans
Scheduled maintenance generate work orders once the conditions for certain triggers have been met. However, you can also manually generate a work order before this happens, if needed. For example, you may want to do this if an asset is currently on downtime, and it would be easier to perform the maintenance now rather than later when the trigger is activated and the downtime is over.
Manually generating a work order does not affect the trigger schedule. The next work order will still be generated according to the set trigger.
To manually generate a work order:
- In Maintenance > Scheduled Maintenance, select the scheduled maintenance record you want to generate a work order from.
- Click Generate Work Order Now in the top menu bar:
The work order is created. - To access the work order directly, navigate to the Log tab and click the work order's entry in the list:
- If the generated work order is associated with a trigger on a fixed schedule, you may need to reset the trigger if you want the next trigger to occur at the original time interval. To do this:
- Navigate to the Scheduling tab on the scheduled maintenance record.
- Click the associated trigger to view it.
- If it isn't, change the start date of the trigger as needed. For example, if a monthly trigger originally occurred on the 21st of every month but a work order was generated early on the 5th, change the start date to the 5th of the next month to keep the trigger on a monthly interval.
