Audience: Administrators and users with the Can access the ‘Asset Criticality’ Page page permission
Asset criticality is a generated rating that allows users to quickly identify and prioritize equipment with critical maintenance requirements.
Administrators and users with the correct permissions can score up to 500 equipment (at a time) on the key metrics of impact and probability of equipment failure. After assigning these scores, the system will generate an asset criticality rating, indicating to users the importance and urgency of maintaining that specific equipment:

Display asset criticality ratings as column on Equipment page
To view asset criticality rating as a sortable column on the Equipment page:
- Navigate to Assets > Equipment:
- Click the Select Visible Elements icon:
- Check the Criticality visibility option:
- Click Ok.
Generate or change an asset criticality rating
To generate, change, or clear asset criticality rating for up to 500 equipment at a time from the Equipment page:
- Navigate to Assets > Equipment:
- Check the boxes of the equipment you would like to assign a criticality rating. You can select multiple pieces of equipment to have them all assigned the same rating:
- Select Assess Asset Criticality from the More dropdown menu. This option will only appear on the Equipment page (Assets > Equipment):
- On the Edit criticality score page, choose one Impact of Failure score:
- If equipment breakdown could stop production, choose “A – Production stopped”.
- If equipment breakdown could affect production, but not stop it, choose “B - Production slowed”.
- If equipment breakdown could have some impact, but not a stoppage or slowdown, select “C - Minor impact”.
- On the Edit criticality score page, choose one Likelihood of Failure score:
- If the equipment is likely to fail before next scheduled maintenance, choose “1 - Likely”.
- If the equipment could fail before next scheduled maintenance, choose “2 - Possible”.
- If the equipment is unlikely to fail before next scheduled maintenance, choose “3 - Unlikely”.
- To clear the rating at any time, click Clear rating (may have to scroll down to see):
- Click Save to save your changes.
