Bulk import equipment or warranties from a spreadsheet

Bulk import or update records using a spreadsheet saved as a .CSV or .TSV file, which can be created and edited in Excel or Google Sheets.

Uploading from a spreadsheet includes the following processes:

1. Create the spreadsheet
2. Upload the spreadsheet to Fiix

Create a spreadsheet for import

To bulk import records from a spreadsheet, you need a spreadsheet with data that matches the data fields in Fiix. Your spreadsheet (saved as a .CSV or .TSV file) should include the following fields for equipment and warranties:

Upload the spreadsheet to Fiix

To upload your spreadsheet for import:

1. Navigate to Assets > Equipment.
2. Click the Action (…) button and select Import equipment or Import warranties:
   
3. Click Upload file:
   
4. Select your spreadsheet from your device and click Open.
5. After the spreadsheet uploads, confirm that the headers in your spreadsheet (Incoming fields) match the fields in Fiix (Destination fields):
   
6. To change the destination field, click the down arrow to open the dropdown menu of Fiix fields and select the closest match:
   
7. Click Continue.
8. In the verification stage, the system will prompt you to review and fix any data that might not upload properly before submitting. This includes adding missing fields, deleting duplicated entries, verifying data that must be validated, fixing date formats, and more. 
   • Verify specific data and find its closest match:
     
   • Required fields are highlighted when missing, and show the error This is a required field. Fill in the missing data by typing directly into the form or editing your spreadsheet and re-uploading it:
     
   • Some data must match data that already exists (has already been input to Fiix), and will show the error Please enter an existing meter or Please enter an existing equipment code. This data must match the existing data in Fiix to be affected by this import. Enter the matching data directly in the form or edit your spreadsheet and re-upload it:
     
9. Click Submit to finalize and submit your data.
