Before you begin
Version: v6 (what does this mean?)
Plans: All plans
Filtering your equipment records is another way to refine the list. For example, you could filter to view only the equipment that’s currently offline, or equipment that is located at a specific site.
To create a filter:
- In Assets > Equipment, click Filters:
- Click Create:
- In the Column Name drop-down list, select the column you want to filter on. For example, to filter by equipment category, select “Category”.
- In the Operator drop-down list, select the operator (contains, empty, etc.) that you want to apply for the filter. The options in this list differ based on which column you selected in the previous step.
- Depending on which operator you selected, do one of the following:
- If you selected an operator that doesn’t require an additional value (such as the “empty” or “not empty” operator), the Value field will be disabled:
Skip to step 6 to continue configuring your filter. - If you selected an operator that requires you to enter a value (such as the “contains” or “does not contain” operator), enter the text or number you want to filter on in the Value field:
In the example above, the filter would display equipment records with “forklift” in their name. - If you selected an operator that requires you to pick values (such as the “One of” or “Not one of” operator), click the Add button and select the necessary values from the list:
The value you select is displayed in the Value field, and the Add button is updated to a Change button:
In the example above, the filter would display equipment that’s currently online.
- If you selected an operator that doesn’t require an additional value (such as the “empty” or “not empty” operator), the Value field will be disabled:
- (Optional) To add additional filter criteria:
- Switch the toggle to And (to display only records that meet all of the filter criteria) or to Or (to display records that meet any of the filter criteria).
- Depending on whether you specified an “and” or an “or” filter, click the corresponding button to add filter criteria:
- Configure your filter by following steps 3-5 above.
- Repeat to add any additional filter criteria.
- (Optional) To save the filter so that you can use it again later:
- Switch on the Save filter to my list toggle:
When this toggle is switched off, the app will still apply your filter, but won’t save it to your list. This means that you’ll have to recreate the filter if you want to apply it again later. - Enter a name for the filter.
- Switch on the Save filter to my list toggle:
- Click Apply.
Tip
If you saved your filter in step 7, see Apply saved equipment filters to learn how to apply it again later.
