When you specify who a user reports to, the manager you select will be able to view that user's work order in the CMMS. For example, if Dave reports to Mary, Mary will be able to see her own work orders, as well as any that are assigned to Dave.
Note
Make sure that the hierarchy you set up in the CMMS forms a straight line. Continuing the example above, if Mary reports to Lisa, you would still set Mary as Dave's manager, rather than Lisa (even though Dave indirectly reports to Lisa through Mary).
To change who a user reports to:
- In Settings > Users, click the user you want to edit. In the example above, you would click Dave's user record.
- Click the Reports To tab.
- Do one of the following:
- To add a new manager, click the + button:
- To replace the existing manager with a new manager, click the manager's name:
- To add a new manager, click the + button:
- In the Reports To drop-down list, select the user's manager. In the example above, you would select Mary:
- Click OK.
- Click Save.
If you later need to remove a user's manager from their user record, hover your cursor over the manager's name and click the delete icon:
