Custom fields on assets are available to customers on the Professional and Enterprise tiers. Custom fields on work orders are only available to customers on the Enterprise tier.
If your organization uses custom fields, you can allow users to edit them using the mobile app. To learn more about this feature in the mobile app, see Edit custom fields on a work order and Edit custom fields on an asset. To learn more about custom fields in general, see the Custom Fields section.
There are no additional permissions you need to set to enable users to edit custom fields on work orders in the mobile app. However, if you want to allow users to edit custom fields on assets, you'll need to enable that functionality using the steps described below.
To allow users to edit custom fields on assets in the mobile app:
In the web app, navigate to Settings > User Groups.
Click the user group you want to enable access for.
Click the API Permissions tab.
Select the checkbox in the Change column for Asset.
Repeat steps 2-5 for any additional user groups you want to enable access for.
