To help you better access the information you need, we've updated the filters for our dashboard widgets.
First, we added descriptions to each filter so that you can better understand how the filters work. The descriptions appear when you select a filter from the list:

Based on customer feedback, we also added new filters for the asset and work order widgets. Some of the new filters we added include:
a user filter in the Overdue Scheduled Work Orders widget
a maintenance type filter in the Work Requests widget
a status filter in the Work Order Backlog widget
a start date filter in the Offline Assets widget
As part of these changes, we have also standardized the filters for the asset and work order widgets, where possible. This means that, for the most part, widgets in the same category will have the same filters. Any differences between the filters available for widgets within the same category are due to the widget's purpose. For example, a "date completed" filter wouldn't make sense in the Open Work Orders widget (because none of the work orders are completed), so instead we display a "date created" filter.
The tables below list the filters for each widget in the Asset and Work Order categories. Filters for other widgets will be standardized in an upcoming release.
