New Fiix CMMS App - Enabling Mobile Features

Before You Begin: This task is for administrators.

The following features must be enabled before your users can access them:

The sections below describe how to enable these features for your users.

Enable cycle counts in the mobile app

In the cycle count feature, your users can enter inventory cycle counts directly in the mobile app. To learn more about this feature, see New Fiix CMMS App - Completing Cycle Counts.

To enable cycle counts in the mobile app:

  1. In the web app, navigate to Settings > CMMS Settings > User Groups.
  2. Click the user group you want to enable access for.
  3. Click the API Permissions tab.
  4. Select the checkboxes in the Find and Change columns for the following items:
    • CycleCount
    • StockCycleCount
  5. Click Save.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for any additional user groups who need access to the cycle count feature in the mobile app.

Enable editing assets in the mobile app

When this feature is enabled, users will be able to edit asset details directly in the mobile app. The details they can edit depend on what type of asset they're editing. To learn more about this feature, see New Fiix CMMS App - Editing Assets.

To enable editing assets in the mobile app:

  1. In the web app, navigate to Settings > CMMS Settings > User Groups.
  2. Click the user group you want to enable access for.
  3. Click the API Permissions tab.
  4. Select the checkbox in the Change column for Asset.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click the Page Permissions tab.
  7. In the Page drop-down list, select Asset.
  8. Select the Has 'Save' Button On The 'Asset' Page checkbox.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Repeat steps 2-9 for any additional user groups who need access to edit assets in the mobile app.

Enable business tracking in the mobile app

When this feature is enabled, users will be able to view the businesses associated with work orders. To learn more about this feature, see New Fiix CMMS App - Viewing Businesses in Work Orders.

To enable business tracking in the mobile app:

  1. In the web app, navigate to Settings > CMMS Settings > Business Tracking.
  2. Select the Enable business tracking checkbox.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Navigate to Settings > CMMS Settings > User Groups.
  5. Click the user group you want to enable access for.
  6. Click the API Permissions tab.
  7. Select the checkboxes in the Find column for the following items:
    • WorkOrderBusiness
    • Business
  8. Click Save.
  9. Repeat steps 5-8 for any additional user groups who need access to the business tracking feature in the mobile app.

Enable BOMs in the mobile app

When this feature is enabled, users can view the parts (and their quantities) that make up an asset. To learn more about this feature, see New Fiix CMMS App - View an Asset's BOM.

To enable the BOM tab in the mobile app:

  1. In the web app, navigate to Settings > CMMS Settings > User Groups.
  2. Click the user group you want to enable access for.
  3. Click the API Permissions tab.
  4. Select the checkbox in the Find column for AssetConsumingReference.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for any additional user groups who need access to BOMs in the mobile app.

Enable the ability to view closed work orders in the mobile app

When this feature is enabled, users can view closed work orders in the Work Orders and Assets features of the mobile app.

Note: Enabling this functionality also enables the ability to view work requests.

To enable this functionality:

  1. In the web app, navigate to Settings > CMMS Settings > User Groups.
  2. Click the user group you want to enable access for.
  3. Click the Page Permissions tab.
  4. In the Page drop-down list, select Work Orders.
  5. Select the Can Access The Work Orders Administration Page checkbox.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Repeat steps 2-6 for any additional user groups who need to view closed work orders in the mobile app.

Enable the ability to view work requests in the mobile app

When this feature is enabled, the mobile app displays the Work Requests tab in the Work Orders feature of the mobile app.

Note: Enabling this functionality also enables the ability to view closed work orders.

To enable this functionality:

  1. In the web app, navigate to Settings > CMMS Settings > User Groups.
  2. Click the user group you want to enable access for.
  3. Click the Page Permissions tab.
  4. In the Page drop-down list, select Work Orders.
  5. Select the Can Access The Work Orders Administration Page checkbox.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Repeat steps 2-6 for any additional user groups who need to work requests in the mobile app.

Enable editing custom fields on assets in the mobile app

If your organization uses custom fields on assets, you can allow users to edit them using the mobile app. To learn more about this feature in the mobile app, see New Fiix CMMS App: Edit Custom Fields On A Work Order. To learn more about custom fields in general, see Add A Custom Field To An Asset.

To allow users to edit custom fields on assets in the mobile app:

  1. In the web app, navigate to Settings CMMS SettingsUser Groups.
  2. Click the user group you want to enable access for.
  3. Click the API Permissions
  4. Select the checkbox in the Change column for the Asset
  5. Click Save.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for any additional user groups who need to be able to edit custom fields on assets using the mobile app.
