In this release, we've launched the ability to assess asset criticality for equipment.
Asset criticality is a generated rating that allows users to quickly identify and prioritize assets that have critical maintenance requirements.
Users can score their equipment on the key metrics of impact and probability of equipment failure. After assigning these scores, the system will generate an asset criticality rating, indicating to users the importance and urgency of maintaining that specific asset:
Administrators and users with the “Can access the ‘Asset Criticality’ Page” permission, as well as v6 User Management, on Enterprise and Professional plans, can use the asset criticality feature.
Using asset criticality:
Display Asset criticality ratings
To view Asset criticality rating as a sortable column on the Equipment page:
- Navigate to Assets > Equipment.
- Click the Select Visible Elements icon:
- Check the Criticality visibility option:
- Click Ok.
Generate or change an asset criticality rating
To generate or change asset criticality rating for one or many equipment:
- Navigate to Assets > Equipment.
- Check the boxes of the equipment you would like to assign a criticality rating. You can select multiple pieces of equipment to have them all assigned the same rating:
- Select Assess Asset Criticality from the More dropdown menu:
- On the Edit criticality score page, choose one Impact of Failure score:
- If equipment breakdown could stop production, choose “A – Production stopped”.
- If equipment breakdown could affect production, but not stop it, choose “B - Production slowed”.
- If equipment breakdown could have some impact, but not a stoppage or slowdown, select “C - Minor impact”.
- To remove a rating, deselect the option that is checked.
- On the Edit criticality score page, choose one Likelihood of Failure score:
- If the equipment is likely to fail before next scheduled maintenance, choose “1 - Likely”.
- If the equipment could fail before next scheduled maintenance, choose “2 - Possible”.
- If the equipment is unlikely to fail before next scheduled maintenance, choose “3 - Unlikely”.
- To remove a rating, deselect the option that is checked.
- You can immediately view the unsaved generated criticality rating:
- To save the rating for all selected equipment, click Save:
