Tasks, also called labor tasks, allow you to track the labor that needs to be completed on your work orders. The items you need to complete for a task will differ based on the task type. For example, you'll need to record a reading before you can close a meter reading task.
The procedure for adding labor tasks to a work order can be found in Getting Started With Work Orders. Individual labor tasks can also be grouped into task groups. For more information on task groups, see the Task Groups article.

Types of labor tasks
There are four types of tasks, as described below:

Includes a text box below the Result column in the task list. This type is useful for tasks that may require additional information about their results. |
Meter reading |

Includes an editable field in the Result column for a meter reading. You can also edit this field in the Result section of the task form. You can specify which unit to use for the meter reading when editing or creating the task. |
Inspection |
|
Allows you to enter a result (pass, fail, or N/A) when the task is completed. You can also configure inspection tasks to send out a notification or create a follow-on work order upon specified results. Only available for Basic, Professional, and Enterprise plans. |
Icons are displayed to the left of the task description, and the editable fields are under the Result columns for appropriate task types:
When creating or editing a task, you can specify the task type using the Choose Task Type dropdown:
Add attachments to tasks
Items such as PDF manuals, images, and videos can be attached to tasks.
To add an attachment to a task:
1) Open a task and click on the Attached Files And Media button.
2) Add files by dragging and dropping your files into the box, or manually by selecting the New button. Once the file is added, check off the file, and click OK to add it to the task.
3) The file will be displayed on the task. Click OK to complete.
Add additional labor to your labor task
The Add Labor button allows user to add additional labor to a task.
1) To add labor to a task click Add Labor on the task.
2) Add the relevant information to the extra labor, and click OK
3) The added labor will be displayed directly below the task.
